Ufff…. Somehow I managed to reach on time. 🙂
Their was a long queue for the registration. After registration I got a nice breakfast.
PyCon 2014 started with Kenneth Award Ceremony. It got over very quickly. A volunter form PyCon briefed about conference schedule for next 2 days. The schedule of all talks was printed behind our ID card too. 🙂
The first talk was given by Kushal Das, Director of PSF. It wasn’t a technical talk. He spoke about his life journey from the time of his middle school to director of PSF. It was inspirational as he was introduced to world of linux a bit late in his life.(2004)
Short break – had coffee with biscuits and met my friends who had a stall for “Free Software Movement Karnataka” organisation, promoting about Free and Open source softwares. They were even talking about the “Goonda Act” with the people. Even I was helping them. 😉
During this break, I met many people form different part of the country. It was very nice to hang out with them. 🙂
There were 2 sessions going on parallel at 2 different auditoriums. One was on Python, the eyes of real world computer applications and other was Python + Spark: Lightining Fast Cluster Copmputing. I decided to go for Python, the eyes of real world computer applications. Well, it was really intresting. 🙂 It was based on image processing along with python scripts. They demonstrated to play a famous android game “flappy bird” with gesture. That was really cool. 🙂
